The Regular Meeting of the Bedford Township Board was called to order by Wilburn at 7:00 PM followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA – Motion was made by Goebel, seconded by Hurley to approve the agenda as presented   Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Schockman, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: None.  Absent: None.

CONSENT AGENDA – Motion was made by Hurley, seconded by Goebel to approve the consent agenda as published.  Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Schockman, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: None.  Absent: None.

Mike Sprott, 8872 Tanglewood, spoke.

Doug Bermick, 1031 Birchwood, spoke.

REPORTS FROM STAFF

FUNDING REQUEST FROM PLANNING DEPARTMENT FOR 2010 AERIAL IMAGERY

Jenkins spoke, explaining the benefits to the planning, building and assessing departments if this request is approved.  The cost would be $2,500.00 and would be invoiced in July of 2010.  Several members of the board spoke to the issue.  Motion was made by O’Dell, seconded by Hurley to approve the funding request for a commitment of $2,500.00, to be invoiced in July of 2010, for the 2010 Orthoimagery Project for Monroe County.  Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: Schockman Absent: None

PRESENTATION OF FINANCIAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2009

Don McGuire, Township Auditor, spoke, explaining the financial report.  He informed the board that the township is in good financial condition, considering the economic times.  Several board members asked questions regarding some of the recommendations mentioned in his report.  Motion was made by Schockman, seconded by Meyer to accept the June 30, 2009 Financial Report, as presented.  Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Schockman, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: None.  Absent: None.

NEW BUSINESS –

APPROVAL OF BILLS- Motion was made by Meyer, seconded by Schockman to approve the following vouchers for payment: General Fund-$16,573.17, Fire District-$56,636.73, Police Fund-$3,288.83, Park Fund-$449.08,Transit System Fund-$7,283.00, Building Inspection Fund-$419.94, Library Operating Fund-$6,318.53, EDC Fund-$7.21, Sewer Operation & Main. Fund-$229.34, & Trust & Agency Fund-$2,583.68, for a total of $93,789.51.  Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Schockman, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: None.  Absent: None.

REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF BUSINESS PROPERTY LEASE AT 7075 LEWIS AVENUE

Wilburn spoke, explaining the need to lease space at this property for storage of assessing and clerk’s department files in a climate controlled building, the cost to be $50.00 per month.  Motion was made by Schockman, seconded by Hurley to approve the business property lease at 7075 Lewis Avenue at a cost of $50.00 per month.  Motion carried on a roll call vote as follows: Aye: Francis, Meyer, O’Dell, Schockman, Goebel, Hurley, & Wilburn.  Nays: None.  Absent: None.

REPORT FROM TOWNSHIP BOARD MEMBERS

Hurley – Mentioned CERT’s volunteers would be assisting with preparation for the Ida Christmas Parade.

Meyer – Stated winter tax bills were sent out after Thanksgiving, if residents have any questions, please contact the Treasurer’s Department.

Schockman – Informed everyone of the upcoming Christmas tree lighting at the Bedford Library, on December 7, 2009, and hoped everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Wilburn – Thanked residents for their comments, mentioned the upcoming Christmas tree lighting at the Library and at Carr’s Grove Park, and informed the public of the work the Road Committee is doing.
