Variance Applications
|
Variances to the zoning ordinance are
authorized only when the regulations create an unnecessary hardship
(physical, not economic nor self-created), and so long as the variance
will not be contrary to the public interest.
The Bedford Township Board of Zoning Appeals reviews applications in
adjudicative hearings on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 PM at the
Township Hall, 8100 Jackman Rd., Temperance, MI 48182.
General Information required by the applicant:
1. A legal description of the property, including the address (if one
has been assigned), and zoning classification.
2. A completed application obtained from the Zoning Department, 8 sets
of construction drawings and plot plans along with a $275.00 application
fee which must be received at least 20 days prior to the scheduled
hearing . The township will in turn send out notices to all parcels
within 300 feet of the subject address. A public notice highlighting the
public hearing will also publish in a local newspaper.
3. The corners of the property should be clearly marked for site
inspection. |
